Citizenship Test

If you’re between 18 and 54 years old on the day you sign your application, you must take the citizenship test. 

The test will ask questions about

Income Requirement – There is no income requirement to sponsor your spouse or partner or dependent child but one will need to show that you have enough money to meet the income requirements if 

–  Low levels of education or literacy in the first language (mother tongue)

–  Other situations that may justify a waiver

–  Test questions and passing score will ask questions about

has 20 questions that are either

– is in English or French

– is 45 minutes long


You need to get at least 15 out of 20 questions right to pass the test.
